According to the schedule, this year’s Leaving Cert will begin on Wednesday, June 7, and run until Tuesday, June 27. The Leaving Cert Applied will begin on the same day but end on Thursday, June 15.

Leaving Certificate Exam Timetable 2022
The exam will begin with English paper 1, and most students will finish their exams on June 23. But students who took Italian, Russian, Classical, Latin, technology, Japanese, Arabic and Physical Education will finish their Leaving Cert exams on June 27 and June 28. The timetable is given below.
Notes:
- Candidates must be in attendance at least half an hour before the examination begins in the subject in which they first present themselves.
- The examination sessions highlighted in orange include 20 minutes over and above the time traditionally allocated for the papers concerned.
- Leaving Certificate Examinations in Hebrew Studies, Ancient Greek and the Non-Curricular Languages (Czech, Bulgarian, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Latvian, Maltese, Modern, Greek, Romanian, Slovakian, Slovenian and Swedish) will be held on Monday, June 19 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
- Examinations based on the curricular specifications for Lithuanian, Mandarin Chinese, Polish and Portuguese will also be held on Monday, June 19.
- Final examinations on Computer Science and the Link Modules of Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) will be held in May 2023. Their respective dates will be announced separately.

The Leaving Cert Applied will begin on June 7 and end on June 15.
- LCA Sign Language examination is timetabled for 9.30 – 12.30 & 2.00 – 4.30. For a 30-minute individual assessment, a candidate-specific schedule will be drawn up for each centre.
