Christine McFeely
 Christine is one of our tutors from Dublin. She is currently on placement with KPMG while also tutoring for us.Â
Christine is studying Actuarial Math in DCU. She uses her years of experience to engage all students within the class. Every student has the ability to perform in Maths, they just need the right teacher.

Brian O’Mahony
Brian O’Mahony took a different path to teaching Maths. Brian found Maths difficult in school. However, when studying in UCC, Brian began to see Maths clearly and began to excel. He went on to graduate with a 1st Class Econometrics master’s degree from UCC. He is currently studying a master’s degree in education in UCC.
Brian’s story is relatable. It was a tutor in UCC who inspired Brian to love Maths. It rubbed off – Brian began tutoring over 4 years ago and has a plethora of recommendations and reviews. He has a clear, concise approach to teaching. He can teach across all levels.

Paulina is one of our new tutors. She brings a very friendly touch to maths grinds.
Paulina graduated with 600 point in her leaving cert and is currently studying Financial Maths and Economics in UG.
Paulina has years of experience teaching grinds. She is calm, organized and an expert at engaging classes.

Jack Horgan
Jack is from Dublin. He is currently completing a degree in Maths in Trinity College Dublin.
Jack has been a maths tutor for a number of years. This combined with his current studies gives him a supreme knowledge of the subject.
Away from academics, Jack is a keen explorer and spends lots of time volunteering with the Scouts. His leadership qualities have even seen him giving a talk on a global level on how being a Scouts member helped him develop those leadership skills.Â
Jack is here to help students navigate the challenges maths can pose.
Emma Duffy
Emma is from Dublin. She is studying to become a secondary school teacher of Maths and Science.
Emma is outgoing and energetic. Having thought in schools and her conducted her own personal maths grinds she has the tools to help any student.
Emma teaches students across Junior and Leaving Cert. She instills confidence into her students, brings energy to her classes and brings the subject to life.
Emma's energy, teaching skill and enthusiasm are the perfect mix for her students.
Karen Gilooly
Karen is from the West of Ireland and specifically Galway. She recently received a WiSTEM2D (Women in STEM) award. Â
Karen found her love of teaching through a tutoring programme where she provided grinds to members of the travelling community. She has a natural gift for teaching!
Karen is studying Maths and Economics in NUIG. Her cool, calm and organized approach to teaching particularly suits students in exam years. Karen teaches Leaving Cert classes at Breakthrough Maths.

Conor O’Donoghue
Conor is 1st Class Economics and Finance graduate from UCD. He achieved a H1 in Maths and his love for Maths stemmed from his mother – also a Maths teacher. A proud Kerry man, Conor has travelled extensively across the world – from helping to build schools in Nicaragua to surfing the coasts of Spain and Portugal.
Conor loves our personal approach to teaching. Teachers should be inspirational – they should be there to help and encourage you whenever you have a problem. Conor is a born leader and gifted at listening to students.

“Hi my name is Cathal and I am from Lucan, Co. Dublin. I achieved 625 points in my Leaving Cert and am currently studying Financial Maths in UCD.
I like to make my classes as interactive as possible, by asking people questions and making sure everyone is involved. “My name is Edward and I am a 21 year old UCC student in my final year of Finance. I love playing sport and am an avid rugby fan. Back in secondary school, I thoroughly enjoyed Maths, so teaching it never feels like a job to me.

Shane O'Connell
Head of Education
From Clonmel, Shane brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to us. He has taught at both primary and secondary levels in schools across Ireland. He has extensive management experience, at both deputy principal and principal levels in Ireland too.
 In 2015, Shane was appointed the first principal of a new Steiner school in Galway, and working alongside the board of management and parents the school has grown from single-digit student numbers to over 100 students today.

T.J. Hegarty
Founder
T.J Hegarty is the founder of Breakthrough Maths. A 600 point student, he has been teaching Maths for almost 10 years. He has taught hundreds of students across all abilities – from pupils with Autism right through to 625 point students.
T.J was inspired to set up Breakthrough Maths because of one student. Fionn, who was a student of T.J’s for almost 6 years, proved that Maths can change lives. Despite the challenges posed by Autism, Fionn has found a love for Maths and is now entering into University to study engineering. And that was the spark.
T.J’s philosophy and system of teaching is designed to help you to Break Through Maths.
